Msgr. Gerard Kalumba

Parish Priest


Msgr. Gerard Kalumba was born on 1st June, 1951 and ordained priest on 18th May, 1975 in the Arch-diocese of Kampala. He was first appointed in Kiganda Parish – now Kiyinda-Mityana Diocese and in January 1977 he was seconded to Katigondo National Seminary to teach. To further his studies in the Bible, he was sent to Rome in September 1978 and completed in 1982 after which he was seconded to Alokolom National Major Seminary.

In January 1986 Msgr. Gerard Kalumba was transferred to the National Seminary Ggaba as a lecturer and Vice Rector. Three years later he was appointed as acting Rector in the same seminary from where he was elevated to Rectorship from 1992 to 2001.

After his leave in Australia from 2001 to 2002, He was appointed Cathedral Administrator of Sacred Heart Cathedral in Rubaga from 2002 to 2006 and later appointed Parish Priest of Wakiso Parish and Episcopal Vicar Wakiso from 2007 to 2008.

In 2008 he was appointed Parish Priest of Christ the King Parish and Episcopal Vicar Kampala Vicariate to date.
