Christ the King Kampala Choirs’ Association Lenten Recollection 2022

St.Andrea Kaggwa_ Kigoowa Parish Curate told Choir members to examine themselves and reflect and ensure what’s on the inside is seen outside.
He said that most of us sing well and even people praise us and yet our inside is different from the outside.

He urged them to use the current lenten period to focus on this as well as be intentional in their service to God and others. He requested them to work on who they are inside that is unknown to others instead of what they portray outside.

Fr. Kalule aka Musukulumu gave this message yesterday Sunday, March 27, during the Christ the King Church Choirs’ Association recollection that was held at Ggaba National Seminary.

He further reminded members that the voices they use belong to God who will take them at a given point in time and thus they should use them to serve Him and others.

While citing the day’s gospel according to Luke 15:1_3, 11_32, he noted that the younger son had understood his mistakes and went back to the Father to ask for forgiveness.

The cleric said that many times, people judge us by our outside appearance and think we are okay and holy yet a critical examination of our lives reveals we are worse than they. He thus asked us not to pretend to be good when we are not because some people know who we truly are but keep it to themselves due to the respect they have for us among other reasons.

He gave an example of Choir members who ‘womanize and manise’ but pretend to be the holiest and the congregation sees and admires them kumbe they are time bombs.

He further illustrated this when he put on the Mass vestments on top of his cassock and looked very ready for Mass, and later put off the vestments only to reveal a torn shirt.

Truthfully non of the choir members expected to see what they saw.

He concluded by saying that that’s what most of us portray on the outside and yet if the inside was to be revealed, the congregation would stop coming to God.

Let us all be transformed by this message and become better Choir members.
