In loving memory of the Late Archbishop Dr. Cyprian Kizito Lwanga
It has almost been one year since the death of His Grace Dr. Cyprian Kizito Lwanga. Although the passage of time has put distance between us and the days that we spent together, our memories of
these moments may be as vivid as if they happened yesterday.
Over the past year, we have had to move forward without him, but we have not forgotten him. It is likely that we also have not forgotten the pain we felt at the time of his death or the profound grief we may have felt in the days, weeks, or months that followed.
The anniversary of a loved one’s death can bring up a mix of feelings; and just as we all deal with grief in different ways, people also choose to deal with the anniversary of a death in different ways. Some people may choose not to acknowledge this day at all, whereas others may have had it in the back of their minds for months.
Some people choose to use the day to memorialize or remember their loved ones, whereas others choose to engage in activities that allow them to take their minds off of the loss. For us, we choose to celebrate the wonderful life that we shared, the legacy that he left us, and the unforgotten lessons he left in our lives.
Many tender memories soften our grief, may fond recollections bring us relief, and may we find comfort and peace in the thought of the joy that His Grace Dr. Cyprian Kizito Lwanga brought… For time and
space can never divide or keep him from our side.
May his soul rest in eternal peace. AMEN
