Our Motto
We sing to God our Lord
The Catholic Centenary Memorial Choir (CACEMCHO) was founded in1978 by the late His Eminence Emmanuel Cardinal Nsubuga to lead the faithful in celebration of 100 years of Catholic faith in Uganda. It’s comprised of members from different parishes and Dioceses of Uganda with the Archbishop of Kampala Archdiocese as it’s Patron and its current Patron is His Grace Paul Ssemogerere.
Looking at the choir activities and animations, CACEMCHO animates the Saturday 6:00pm and the Sunday 7:00am Holy masses at Christ the King Parish Kampala as a major part of its church ministry. In addition, activities like professional and excellent singing or animating ceremonies like weddings, graduations, sacerdotal/ priestly, episcopal ordinations and anniversaries, all kinds of faith – church based jubilee celebrations is our duty to make it memorable, meditative and colorful from the training done by our professional music directors.
The choir has succeeded in various local and international choral and religious activities as itself and in other cases representing the country or other choirs for performances and competitions ie, they travelled to distinguished various countries which among others include Italy (vatican) for 3times, France, Jerusalem, Germany, Kenya (3 times), Tanzania and Rwanda (3 times) where the choir has always travelled for not only choral activities but also for Marian pilgrimage to Kibeho – Rwanda in devotion to our Lady.
As we envision to becoming a perfect choir evangelizing through singing and praising, the choir has taken it upon self to prepare the faithful during the major celebrations of the church by staging carol performances such as Easter Carols, Martyrs Carols, Marian Carols and Christmas Carols to enable Christians meditate, praise, pray and reflect on this major season of Mother Church.
The Choir has also made several audio and video recordings, which can be accessed from their social media platforms and are also on sale. If you have any questions, reach out to the contacts listed at the end of this article.

How does one become a member of CACEMCHO?
The Choir has three (3) categories of members of the choir, namely; Ordinary, Honorary and Co-opted membership.
1. Ordinary Membership is open to all active members of the Centenary Choir who have admitted their indicating in writing their willingness to continue in the choir.
a) New Ordinary membership can be acquired by applying in writing to the committee, provided however that no person is admitted as a new ordinary member unless and until such a person is of good character and first meets all criteria that the committee sets. Such criteria include but are not limited to an audition test, display of interest in and sympathy with the objectives of the choir;
b) Re-admission where a member of the choir may apply for re-admission in the event his/her application is treated like any other application for new membership.
2. Honorary Membership where the choir on the recommendation of the committee, accord honorary membership to any person of good conduct who, though interested in and sympathetic to the objectives of the choir, cannot for one reason or another participate actively in the business of the choir. The total honorary members do not exceed one-fourth of the ordinary membership of the choir.
3. Co-opted Membership where the committee whenever the circumstances so acquire co-opt an expert in any field to play a role, which for the time being none of the ordinary members can play and such a person’s membership shall cease immediately after the purpose is achieved.
As per the CACEMCHO constitution, each new member of the choir is entitled to make a membership fee of 10,000/= (ten thousand shillings), an annual subscription of 10,000/= (ten thousand shillings) and to continuing members an annual subscription of 10,000/= (ten thousand shillings); It is this money that is used to run the choir activities.
We have continued to receive new members. We thank the Lord and also thank those who recruited them to CACEMCHO. Let us continue holding each other’s hands and ensure that all voices are well-balanced with more members.
The Choir is running a savings scheme under account number 3200639663 in Centenary Bank with 3 choir members as signatories.
This was established to help choir members save and borrow for their domestic needs. Each member who joins the scheme is entitled to a savings passbook to keep track of their savings record.
I call upon the incoming leadership to boost up this scheme as it aims to help choir members borrow for their domestic needs.
The Choir has an Executive committee called “THE COMMITTEE” which in general and collectively is responsible for the smooth running of the choir. The committee is subjected to approval by the choir in the general meeting,
