Christ the King Worship Team

‘’Created to Worship’’

We believe that worship is one of the primary responsibilities of a believer in Christ. Therefore we treat God’s requirement to worship Him as a priority in our lives and lifestyles.

  1. Participating in divine worship services as a choir member is a sacred responsibility, not to be taken lightly.
  2. Choir members, like other church musicians, offer their God-given talents to the faith for various reasons. St. Athanasios the Great, a Church Father of the 4th Century, beautifully summarizes for us the roles and responsibilities of choir members: “When chanters chant with the tongue and also with the mind, they greatly benefit not only themselves but also those who want to hear them. To recite the psalms with melody is not done from a desire for pleasing sound, but it is a manifestation of harmony among the thoughts of the soul.”
  3. Membership on the Praise and Worship Team is a position of Christian leadership. The primary function, then, is to lead the congregation in true worship under the guidance of the Holy Spirit. “God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship Him in spirit and truth” (John 4:24). Therefore, the purpose and calling of a choir is that of leading others into the very presence of the Living God.

We animate Mass on Sunday at 5:00pm
