Daughters of St. Paul (Pauline Sisters)
We the Daughters of St Paul, are an International-Missionary Congregation of Women Religious, who, consecrated and called as Apostles, are aware of our prophetic commitment and historical responsibility, and thus live and communicate the whole Christ to all people with all the means and languages of communication in the spirit of the Apostle Paul.
Moved by the love of Christ and the needs of today’s humanity, we assume this noble mission with a pastoral spirit, courage, respect for cultures, creativity and discernment. We embrace the languages and technologies of communication that are most adequate to make the Gospel reach the heart of everyone. Our principal call is to know, love, live and make Christ Master known in the world by the witness of our life and the faithful response to our vocation.
We were founded in Italy on June 15, 1915, by Blessed James Alberione (founder) and Venerable Sr. Thecla Merlo (Co-foundress). At the moment we are present in 50 different countries. In Africa we are present in fifteen countries, namely: Angola, D.R. Congo, Ghana, Ivory Coast, Kenya, Madagascar, Malawi, Mozambique, Nigeria, South Africa, South Sudan, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia and Zimbabwe.
“You who possess knowledge, who have intelligence and will power, a tremendous capacity to love, a spirit of self-sacrifice, a burning desire for holiness, and a consuming thirst for souls, come with confidence to the Daughters of St Paul. You can spend yourself completely in the Pauline apostolate while your horizons grow ever longer, broader and more beautiful.” (Blessed James Alberione)

What we do
We go everywhere, making Christ known and loved as St. Paul did. We run a Book and Media Centre where we exhibit Books, Magazines, and Audiovisuals; and organize book and audio-visual exhibitions in parishes, schools, seminaries and other convenient places more accessible to people.
We also use the Radio, Television, the internet and all the Means that modern technology of communication invents and uses to connect people – we are present and active on different social media platforms like YouTube, Facebook, TikTok, Twitter, Instagram, and WhatsApp.
