Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary

Dear Parishioners,

On Thursday, August 15, we join the universal Church in celebrating the Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary — our belief that Mary, Mother of Our Lord, was taken body and soul into heavenly glory at the end of her earthly life.

This feast reminds us of our own calling to share in Christ’s victory over sin and death. As Mary is our model of faith and obedience, let us honor her with prayer, devotion, and participation in the Holy Mass.
